Central Northside is a diverse community of old and new residents. It is centrally located just north of Downtown and is surrounded by some of Pittsburgh’s best entertainment and cultural facilities. Central North Side is very walkable to such amenities such as the Pittsburgh Public Theater, the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh, Heinz Field, PNC Park, the Mattress Factory, Andy Warhol Museum, National Aviary, Carnegie Science Center and more, so you can park the car and walk in this commuter-friendly neighborhood.
The Mexican War Streets section of the neighborhood is comprised of carefully restored rowhouses that reflect Greek revival doorways, Gothic turrets, stained glass, and Richardsonian stonework. Its streets were named after battles and soldiers of the 1846 Mexican War. Residents also are nearby to medical care at Allegheny General Hospital, and the natural beauty at Allegheny Commons Park.
